Sacramento, Calif.— California State Senator Aisha Wahab (D-Hayward) formally introduced the much anticipated firearms resolution, now known as Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 7. The Right to Safety Resolution “reaffirms the commitment of the State of California to tackle gun violence, and calls on the U.S. Congress to ensure life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all,” stated Sen. Sacramento, Calif.—During the Assembly Judiciary hearing on Wednesday, Senator Aisha Wahab’s SB 403, Discrimination on the Basis of Caste, passed with a vote of 9-0. The bill would clarify California civil rights law to explicitly include protection against discrimination based on a person’s perceived position in a caste.
