Senator Wahab: March Newsletter

Hi Neighbor,

I authored Senate Resolution 19 which recognized Women’s History Month. We had much to celebrate, including achieving gender parity in the Senate for the first time in California’s history!

It’s been a busy and inspiring month across the district and at the Capitol. I want to share some of the highlights:

  • I was honored to be named Trailblazer of the Year from Ruby’s Place for our shared work supporting survivors of domestic violence and vulnerable communities, as well as being recognized by the CA AAPI Legislative Caucus as one of the few Asian American State Officials.

  • I’m proud to have secured $2.5 million for the completion of Phase 1 of the Hayward Stack Center.

  • I had the pleasure of speaking at West Valley College International Women’s Day Luncheon, Sunnyvale’s Celebrate-Sunnyvale Awards, and the Santa Clara County School Boards Association’s Legislative Brunch

  • I was also very proud to host a celebration of Nowroz in the Capitol with sweets to mark the 1st day of Spring.

  • I’m proud of our diverse community hosting so many interfaith Iftar dinners to promote respect and love for all community members.
