Senator Dr. Aisha Wahab’s Monthly Updates - March 2025
Hi Neighbor,
February was filled with celebrations, community engagement, and legislative action.
As Vice Chair of the AAPI Legislative Caucus, we had many Lunar New Year celebrations across the district. I’m proud to celebrate our community’s rich diversity—it’s one of our greatest strengths.

We honored Black History Month by celebrating the resilience and achievements of our Black community—from flag-raising ceremonies to recognizing outstanding community members who make a difference in our society.

Supporting Small Businesses
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. We hosted our quarterly Small Business Workshop with State Treasurer Fiona Ma, CPA. Hundreds of business owners attended to gain resources and support.
I’m proud to have passed SB 982, ensuring that organized retail theft remains a crime and protecting businesses from disruptions.

Tackling Tax Season—With Tacos!
I am also proud of our great Tacos & Taxes event—where constituents got their Taxes done for FREE while enjoying some delicious tacos!

Legislative Highlights
I introduced the Investor-Owned Utilities Accountability Act – This bill holds utility giants accountable, preventing unnecessary rate hikes, ensuring better equipment, and requiring them to contribute their fair share to the Wildfire Fund.
