Dear Neighbor, Together, we delivered real results. We brought millions of dollars home for local infrastructure and community needs. We strengthened protections for children, women, seniors, and survivors. We required rape kits to be tested, fought sexually explicit deepfakes and revenge porn, expanded protections for foster youth, helped end child marriage in California, and advanced housing protections for renters and homeowners. The majority of my legislation earned bipartisan support. I did not win every fight. But I always listened, told you where I stood, and never forgot who sent me to the Capitol. Now, I have the extraordinary honor of continuing to serve many of you in Congress. My office may change, but my commitment to this community will not. To every educator, first responder, worker, small-business owner, community leader, colleague, staff member, and constituent who called, emailed, attended an event, stopped me at the grocery store, or shared a conversation over coffee: thank you. Most of all, thank you for giving a foster kid from this community the chance to represent you.
I leave the State Senate proud of what we accomplished, grateful for what you taught me, and humbled by your trust. Senate District 10 will always be home. Respectfully,
Dr. Aisha Wahab |
