SB 13 eliminates impact fees on accessory units below 750 square feet to reduce building costs for homeowners

SACRAMENTO – A major accessory dwelling unit (ADU) reform bill authored by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) to eliminate developer impact fees on units below 750 square feet passed the Assembly Local Government Committee today. SB 13, which also eliminates owner occupancy restrictions for five years, passed with bipartisan support.
SR 47 adds California's voice in support of joining Basel Convention to curb international waste

SACRAMENTO – With strong bipartisan support, the California Senate today passed SR 47, authored by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) to urge Congress to ratify the Basel Convention, an international treaty that places protocols on international waste.
SACRAMENTO – The Senate Environmental Quality Committee today approved Senate Resolution 47 by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) with bipartisan support to urge the United States to ratify the Basel Convention, an international treaty to reduce the movement of hazardous waste and mixed plastic waste.
SACRAMENTO – Foreign Service Officers from California representing the United States abroad, and their spouses, would be able to get an extension for their driver’s license that would keep it in full effect for the duration of the time they are serving abroad, under Senate Bill 267 authored by Sen. Bob Wieckowski. The bill was approved this afternoon by the Assembly Transportation Committee.
SACRAMENTO – Senator Bob Wieckowski’s (D-Fremont) Senate Bill 616, ensuring that at least $2,000 must be left in a bank account when it is levied by a debt collector, passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee this morning.
