Hayward – State Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) will attend the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration at Chabot College’s Reed L. Buffington Visual and Performing Arts Center, 25555 Hesperian Blvd., on Monday, Jan. 19 at 4:30 p.m.

Fremont – Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) issued the following statement on Governor Brown’s proposed budget for 2015-2016.
“Governor Brown’s proposed budget clearly shows the tremendous comeback California has made since 2010 with targeted cuts, Prop. 30 and a growing economy. Instead of a $26 billion deficit and 12 percent unemployment rate when I first arrived to the Legislature, we now have one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation, four consecutive balanced budgets and the will to confront major challenges facing our state.

Sacramento – State Senate Pro Tem Kevin de Leon has appointed Sen. Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) to serve on four standing committees, in addition to chairing the Senate Environmental Quality Committee, de Leon announced today.
Sacramento – State Sen. Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) will chair the Senate Environmental Quality Committee in the 2015-2016 legislative session, Senate President Pro Tem. Kevin de Leon’s office announced today. It is familiar territory for Wieckowski who previously served as chair of the Assembly’s Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee during his first term in the Legislature.
