Please Join Senator Wieckowski for the African-American Heritage Leadership Awards

February 5, 2018

Dear Friend,

The 10th Senate District is one of the most diverse districts in the state of California, and we have all greatly benefited from the positive impact African Americans have had in our communities.

In order to honor individuals who continue to make a positive impact, I am hosting my 7th Annual African-American Heritage Leadership Awards on Thursday, February 8th at the Council Chambers of Union City’s City Hall at 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road in Union City. The ceremony will be from 3:30 pm to 5pm. Doors open at 3pm.

We will be honoring prominent African-American leaders from our community. The honorees include:

  • Dr. Arlando Smith, Superintendent of New Haven Unified School District.
  • Jean Morgan, Community Outreach Director at Abode Services.
  • Dr. Emmett Carson, CEO and President of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
  • Eden Rose Chapter of The Links

The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Please RSVP to my office at (510) 794-3900 or e-mail

I hope you can join me for this wonderful event on February 8th. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you in the California State Senate.

Bob Wieckowski
Senator, 10th District
