As you may know, March is Women's History Month. In order to honor courageous women who continue to make a positive impact in our community, I am hosting my 2nd Annual Women of the Year Ceremony on Thursday, March 30th at the Berryessa Public Library,
3355 Noble Avenue in San Jose.

The ceremony will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

This year's honorees include:

  • Anu Natarajan, former Fremont Vice-Mayor
  • Hilary Keith, Santa Clara City Librarian
  • Jean Marlowe, President of the River Oaks Neighborhood Association

Fremont – California State Senator Bob Wieckowski issued the following statement on the passing of former U.S. Representative Don Edwards at the age of 100.

Sacramento – California Governor Jerry Brown today signed a bill by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) to avoid lengthy demurrer proceedings and ease the congestion in California’s busy courtrooms.  The bill, SB 383, was supported by the California Defense Counsel, Consumer Attorneys of California and the California Judges Association.

Fremont – State Senator Bob Wieckowski’s (D-Fremont) office is holding satellite office hours for constituents throughout the 10th Senate District to meet and resolve issues involving state agencies.

“These satellite office hours will provide a way for people to meet in person with my staff to discuss problems they may be having with a state agency or any other information they need from the state of California,” Wieckowski said.  “Each week, there will be a satellite office open on a rotating basis in the 10th District.”

Sacramento – State Senator Bob Wieckowski’s Environmental Quality Committee will hold its latest regional hearing on climate change adaptation this Tuesday at the University of California, Merced.  The hearing, “Central Valley Regional Adaptation Efforts to Climate Change Impacts” will feature state and local officials from agriculture, fire, water and air departments and districts.

San Jose - State Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) will honor five outstanding leaders at his 3rd Annual Latino Heritage Leadership Awards Ceremony this Friday afternoon. 

“These five individuals from health care, journalism, foundations, the private sector and academia continue to make outstanding contributions to all parts of the 10th State Senate District and the Latino communities in Alameda and Santa Clara counties,” Wieckowski said.
